SECTION I – SOLO PIANO
 
“LITTLE HANDS” category – Pianists born in 2018.

Free program lasting a maximum of 2 minutes with one piece of your choice from the following collections:

 
Category  A  –  Pianists born in 2016, 2017.

Free program lasting a maximum of 4 minutes with one piece of your choice from the following collections:

 
Category B – Pianists born in 2014, 2015.

Free program lasting a maximum of 6 minutes with one piece of your choice from the following collections:

 
Category  C  – Pianists born in 2011, 2012, 2013.

Free program lasting a maximum of 8 minutes with one piece of your choice from the following collections:

  • Monster Music – M. Vacca:
    • Passi dell’Orco
    • La danza della tarantola
    •  

Category  D  – Pianists born in 2008, 2009, 2010.

Free program lasting a maximum of 10 minutes with one piece of your choice from the following collections:

  • Monster Music – M. Vacca:
    • Il Valzer dei folletti
    • Il bosco degli gnomi

 
Category E – Pianists born between 2005 and 2007.
Free program lasting a maximum of 20 minutes with a piece of your choice taken from the 20th century piano repertoire.
 
Category F – Pianists born since 2004 without age limits.
Free program lasting a maximum of 30 minutes.
 
 
SECTION II – PIANO 4 HANDS
 
Category G “LITTLE HANDS” – Pianists born from 2016 to 2018.

Free program lasting a maximum of 4 minutes with two compulsory pieces, of your choice, from the following collections:

 
Category H – Pianists born between 2012 and 2015.

Free program lasting a maximum of 6 minutes with two compulsory pieces, of your choice, from the following collections:

 
Category I – Pianists born between 2008 and 2011.

Free program lasting a maximum of 15 minutes with two compulsory, of your choice, from the following collections:

 
Category L – Pianists born since 2007 without age limits.
Free program lasting a maximum of 25 minutes.
 
SECTION III – PIANO COMPOSITION FOR CHILDREN
 
Category M – Composers, without age limits, who will present two piano pieces of a level not higher than the repertoire foreseen by the former lower completion of piano R.D. 1945/30.
The compositions may range from repertoire pieces to studies aimed at the technical-stylistic learning of students in this educational field.
The aim of the competition, in its various editions, is to create a collection of pieces that will form a volume dedicated to piano teaching in its various facets.
The pieces presented will not be tied to a precise running time.
 
The material must be presented both in pdf format and in audio file by sending everything to info@concorsogiannirugginenti.it

The jury of this first edition of the “Gianni Rugginenti” International Piano Competition will be made up of prominent names from the Italian musical and teaching scene who for years, in addition to intense concert activity, have been involved in the training of young pianists with great professionalism and sensitivity, covering highly prestigious roles in various Conservatories in our country.

The “Gianni Rugginenti” International Piano Competition was created to remember the figure of this great man and publisher who dedicated more than forty years of his life to the world of music with his work, his humanity and his dedication.
Always very attentive to the world of young artists and composers, he has always given space to the creativity of many authors.
