The Jury
Carlo Balzaretti, Milanese pianist and composer, completed his musical and humanistic studies at the Conservatory of his city with Alberto Mozzati, Paolo Bordoni, Angelo Corradini, Danilo Lorenzini and Azio Corghi. He quickly established himself on the international concert scene by winning first absolute prizes in various national (Osimo and Bologna) and international competitions, including the “Maria Canals” in Barcelona in which he was the first overall winner in 1982. In March 1993 he debuted at the Kennedy Center in Washington with the Melo Simphony Orchestra.
He is the author of several musical publications in the educational field, published by Ricordi and Warner Bros. He is currently the Director of the “G.Puccini” Conservatory of Gallarate.
Maria Vacca, pianist, author and composer, began her studies under the guidance of her mother, Graziella Provedel, and graduated from the International Polytechnic “Scientia et Ars” of Vibo Valentia. From a very young age she undertook an intense concert activity both as a soloist and in a piano duo. Combining her passion for music with that for drawing, she has produced several series of methods for studying piano and solfeggio, which have also been translated and published abroad and reviewed by important Italian music magazines. Teacher at the Conservatory and at piano teaching seminars, she has been a member of the jury in numerous piano competitions.
Annibale Rebaudengo was a piano teacher at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan where he also taught Instrumental Teaching Methodology and Improvisation. For over three decades he has been carrying out training and refresher courses for instrument teachers in public and private institutions, from Conservatories to the Accademia della Scala. As a concert performer he played with the Trio Casella, in a piano duo with M. Cristina Carini and with the cellist Aldo D’Amico. He won the Grand Prix du Disque in Paris with the contralto Clara Wirz. National president of SIEM from 1996 to 2005, he was part of the ministerial commissions that organized the musical secondary schools and designed the musical high schools.
Pianist, composer, conductor – is a musician, scholar and teacher recognized by international critics. Teacher at the State Conservatory of Music “G. VERDI” of Milan, since 2009 and former teacher of “Study of instrumentation applied to the score” in the Master’s Degree Course in Musicology at the State University of Milan.
Among the many recognitions, in 1994 he was awarded the title of “Grand Officier de l’Ordre Mondo de la Science Musicale” of Geneva.
He has played in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Poland, Lichtenstein, Bulgaria, Brazil, Istria, Croatia, Dalmatia, Yugoslavia, where he released concert recordings for the radio and television stations of those countries.
W, Stettler, musicologist and music critic, defined it:
“… eclectic, profound, coherent musician… Mario Calisi, a pianist with a diamond-like sound, fascinates and enraptures even the most demanding audiences… His sense of metric and observance of tempos recalls Glen Gould in his charm”.
Anthony Ciaccio is an Italian pianist who has performed in numerous concert halls in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Palestine, Macedonia, Hungary and Romania. He taught at the conservatory of Trapani and Sassari and held masterclasses in music high schools, conservatories and universities in Romania, Spain, Palestine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Malta. He is currently a teacher of Piano Practice and Reading at the “Alessandro Scarlatti” Conservatory of Palermo.
